The Sathyaraj-starrer Madras Matinee announced that it would be released on May 23. The date was announced as part of a Title Story video, released online by its makers.

The video features Sathyaraj as a science fiction writer, Jyoti Ramaya, as he talks about his motive for science fiction writing. It also features several characters, with their descriptions shown within pages of a book.

Sathyaraj stars as the lead in Madras Matinee with a cast that features Kaali Venkat, Roshni Haripriyan, Shelly, Vishva, George Maryan, Archana Chandhoke, Sunil Sukhada, Madhumitha, Chaams, Geetha Kailasam, and Bhanupriya.

Along with directing the film, Karthikeyan Mani is also the writer. KC Balasarangan handles the music for the film, with lyrics by Snekan. Anand GK is the director of photography, Satheesh Kumar Samuski is the editor, and Jacki is the art director. Abhishek Raaja serves as a creative producer with Harikrishnan GA as an executive producer. Dream Warrior Pictures is presenting Madras Matinee.

Karthikeyan Mani's Madras Matinee is set to be released theatrically on May 23.
