After receiving positive acclaim for its story and screenplay, Roopa Koduvayur's recent supernatural thriller Yamakaathaghi is heading for its OTT release. Directed by Peppin George Jayaseelan, the film was released in theatres on March 7.

Our CE review of the film read, "Yamakaathaghi is a breath of fresh air, both with regard to the novelty given to a horror story and the solutions, however cinematic, to social issues like caste discrimination. However, some ineffective writing choices make it difficult to fully embrace the film."

Roopa is known for her roles in Telugu films Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya (2020) and Mr Pregnant (2023). Yamakaathaghi marks her Tamil debut.

Apart from Roopa, the film also stars Narendra Prasath, Haritha, Geetha Kailasam and Subash Ramasamy in prominent roles. Yamakaathaghi is produced by Sujith Sarang and Sreejith Sarang under their banner, the Sarang Brothers. Apart from bankrolling the film, the brothers duo also handled the cinematography and edits, respectively.
