Announced in 2023, the makers of debut director SJN Alex Pandian's Cristina Kathirvelan dropped the first look poster.

The film is described as a village love story that "transcends religious boundaries." The film, set in Kumbakonam, stars Kaushik Ram and Prathiba in the lead roles. The star cast includes Singam Puli, Ganja Karuppu, and Jayakumar in pivotal roles. The others that round out the cast of the film are TSR Aarul, D Shankar, Silmisham Siva, Ravi VJ, Bhuvaneshwari, Vicky, Sathya, Michael, and Sanjay Varman.

Speaking about the film, director SJN Alex Pandian shared, "The story follows a young man who falls in one-sided love with a collegemate. He and his love interest are drawn into a plan to unite their fellow student, who happens to be the sister of a powerful local figure, with her lover. The film explores in a gripping manner how their lives turn upside down after this."

Kaushik is known for his role in Kalangalil Aval Vasantham, and Prathiba attracted attention with her role in the Malayalam film Kondal.

Cristina Kathirvelan's technical crew comprises music composer NR Raghunanthan, cinematographer Prahath Muniyasami, and editor Lokeshwar.
