We had earlier reported that veteran actor Suresh will be headlining a film after several years. The film will be helmed by director Vijay Sri G.

The latest update is that the film has been titled Thalir. The makers also announced that the film's title teaser will be launched in Malaysia on April 19.

Suresh, who shot to fame leading the 1981 film Panneer Pushpangal, has been cast in supporting and negative roles, mostly in Tamil and Telugu. Suresh was last seen in Rewind (2024), a Telugu sci-fi film directed by Kalyan Chakravarthy.

Produced by GV International, a Malaysia-based production company, this film also features an ensemble cast including Dato Ganesh, popularly known as the ‘Malaysian Rajinikanth’, along with Anithra Nair, Mottai Rajendran, Deepa, Singam Puli, and more. Music is by Rashaanth Arwin of Haraa fame.

Vijay Sri G had made Dha Dha 87 (2019), starring Charuhaasan; Powder (2022), starring Nikil Murukan; and his last film, Haraa (2024), led by Mohan.

This film is expected to be a high-octane entertainer. Backed by GV International’s Dato Ganesh and Vishal, the film is being produced on a grand scale.

The film’s shooting commenced recently, and the filming will take place across India and Malaysia.
