The makers of debutant Krishna Sankar's upcoming courtroom drama The Verdict dropped the character poster of actor Sruthi Hariharan, who will be playing the role of Namrutha in the film.

Apart from Suhasini Maniratnam and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, the rest of the star cast includes Vidyulekha Raman and Prakash Mohandas in prominent roles.

In an earlier conversation with CE, the director divulged about setting a courtroom drama in the US and how tricky it was to differentiate Indian and American legal systems in order to make it comprehensible for audiences here. “Except for the jury system, I don’t think there is much of a difference between court proceedings in India and the US. Also, things happening outside the court are common and relatable to the Indian audience,” he said, adding that the actors were so cooperative that he was able to complete the filming in 23 days as planned.

The technical crew of The Verdict comprises cinematographer Arvind Krishna, who is best known for Pudhupettai and 7G Rainbow Colony, and editor Sathish Surya of Vikram Vedha fame. The film’s music is composed by Aditya Rao.

The film, produced by Prakash Mohandas' Agni Entertainment, is yet to get its release date.
