After back-to-back successes with Good Night and Lover, actor Manikandan joined hands with director Rajeshwar Kalisamy for his next, which wrapped filming early this year.

The makers of the film announced that the first look will be revealed on Saturday, September 28. It is expected that the title of the film, which is now tentatively called ManikandansNext, too will be revealed on the same date.

The pre-announcement poster just featured a fruit basket, indicating this film too will be a family entertainer revolving around the middle class. The film marks the directorial debut of Rajeshwar, who shot to fame with the Nakkalites YouTube channel.

The film stars Telugu actor Saanve Megghana as the female lead in her Tamil debut. Guru Somasundaram also stars in a prominent role in the upcoming film.

In a previous conversation with CE, the director shared, "Adventure-driven stories are mostly used in the action or thriller genres. I want to explore it as a family entertainer with a middle-class youngster at the centre of things. While Good Night was more of a drama, this film will be a comedy-adventure film. Also, this film is entirely set in Coimbatore and will cater to the sensibilities and expectations of our Nakkalites audience."

Backed by S Vinothkumar's Cinemaakaran banner, the project comprises a technical team of cinematographer Sujith Subramaniam, editor Kannan, and music composer Vaisagh.
