Days after it was announced that Jiiva will next be seen in Black by debut director Balasubramani, with Priya Bhavani Shankar playing the female lead, the film's trailer dropped on Wednesday.
The under three-minute trailer glimpse is quite straightforward with the story. Jiiva and Priya Bhavani Shankar play a happy couple who become the first ones to occupy a villa in a huge township, with the rest yet to be occupied. Problems begin when they spot lights on in one property, and their villa gets ambushed while they get out to examine what's really wrong. There are both horror and home invasion thriller elements in the trailer. It will be known what's really bothering the couple and why they are being targeted only upon the release of Black.
Earlier, debutant director Balasubramani said, "The darkness enveloping us may be referred to as black. In another context, we may use the term ‘Black’ to describe the hidden nature of certain aspects of ours, making it difficult for others to comprehend us. The film centres around this theme, narrated with thriller and racy moments.” He added that the film will lay focus on the events affecting a couple over the course of a night.
Black, produced by Potential Studios, boasts a technical crew comprising cinematographer Gokul Benoy, music composer Sam CS, editor Philomin Raj, stunt choreographer Metro Mahesh, lyricists Madhan Karky and Chandru, and choreographer Sherif.
