Actor Trisha confirmed that she will be a part of the upcoming Ajith Kumar-starrer Good Bad Ugly through a social media story. Trisha re-posted a tweet which mentioned that her upcoming films are Vidaamuyuarchi and Good Bad Ugly with Ajith, Vishwambhara in Telugu with Chiranjeevi, Identity in Malayalam with Tovino Thomas, and Mani Ratnam's Kamal Haasan-starrer Thug Life

Following a somewhat silent few years, Trisha had notable roles in Ponniyin Selvan 1 (2022), Ponniyin Selvan 2 (2023), and Leo (2023). The actor was last seen in a special appearance in Vijay's The Greatest of All Time this year. Her 2004 film with Vijay, Ghilli, was also re-released this year to much fan fare.

Good Bad Ugly will be the first time that Ajith Kumar pairs up with Trisha for consecutive films. They were last seen together in the 2015 Gautham Vasudev Menon film Yennai Arindhaal. Prior to that, they were seen together in many films like Mankatha (2011), Kireedam (2007), and Ji (2005).

Good Bad Ugly is directed by Adhik Ravichandran, whose last release was Mark Antony (2023). The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad, while Abinandan Ramanujam cranks the camera. Editing is by Vijay Velukutty and stunts are handled by Supreme Sundar.
