It was earlier reported that Dhanush will direct his next film, tentatively titled D52. The actor, who has been on a direction spree of sorts with Raayan and Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam being consecutive directorial ventures, on Thursday revealed that the film is titled Idli Kadai, along with a poster.

Idli Kadai will be Dhanush's fourth directorial after Pa Paandi, Raayan, and Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. Going by the poster, it looks like a slice-of-life film. GV Prakash Kumar will compose the music for the film, adding to his recent collaborations with Dhanush, such as Vaathi, Captain Miller, and Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. The film will be made collaboratively by Dawn Pictures, Red Giant Movies, and Wunderbar films. Aakash Baskaran and Dhanush are the producers, while Sreyas Srinivasan is the executive producer.

Technically, the film will have DOP Kiran Koushik, editor Prasanna GK, and production designer Jacki. Further details about the cast are awaited, although the film will reportedly see Arun Vijay, Ashok Selvan, Nithya Menen, Sathyaraj and Rajkiran playing prominent roles.

On the acting front, Dhanush has a long list of films, including Sekhar Kammula's Kubera, the Ilayaraaja biopic Maestro, directed by Arun Matheswaran, Mari Selvaraj's untitled film, and Aanand L Rai's Tere Ishq Mein in the pipeline.
