As the Telugu states are reeling due to the aftermath of rains and flooding, actor Silambarasan TR, or STR, has made a donation of Rs 6 lakh to the Chief Minister Relief Fund of the respective states.

According to some sources, he is the first Tamil actor to make a donation towards the aid of the neighbouring states ravaged by floods.

Eminent film personalities from the Telugu industry like Siddhu Jonnalagadda, Vishwak Sen, Jr NTR, Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, and Prabhas have made donations already.

With the latest development, STR is the only non-Telugu and Tamil actor to donate to the cause.

On the workfront, Simbu was last seen in Pathu Thala, directed by Obeli Krishna. He will be seen in a prominent role in Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam's Thug Life and Desingh Periyasamy's next, tentatively titled STR 48, bankrolled by Kamal's Raaj Kamal Films International. Both the films are in different stages of production.
