With Vettaiyan, by TJ Gnanavel, gearing up for release, actor Rajinikanth has shifted focus to his next with Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie.

The production company of the film, Sun Pictures, has been making major casting announcements since August 28. Accordingly, Sathyaraj will play Rajasekar, while Shruti Haasan, Nagarjuna, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir will play Preethi, Simon, Kaleesha, and Dayal, respectively.

Coolie, produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, went on floors this July. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, editing by Philomin Raj, and stunts by Anbariv.
