We had reported that actor Guru Somasundaram will headline debut director Dhinakaran Sivalingam's film Bottle Radha, a few months ago.

The latest update from the film, bankrolled by Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions, is that it will get a theatrical release on December 20. Known for his roles in Jigarthanda, Minnal Murali and Joker, Guru was previously seen in director Rahul Kabali's Bayamariya Brammai.

During an exclusive conversation with CE, Dhinakaran said, "The film is all about hope and humour. Guru sir is playing a mason who lost his life and the people he most prized to his drinking habit. The story is about his redemption."

In a glimpse video released weeks ago, it shows the tipsy antics of Radha (Guru Somasundaram), who often gets in harmsway because of alcohol. The over-a-minute video also shows the serious problems Radha causes in his family because of this habit.

The ensemble cast of Bottle Radha also includes Sanchana Natarajan, John Vijay, Lollu Sabha Maaran, and Merku Thodarchi Malai-fame Antony.

The technical team of Bottle Radha comprises cinematographer Roopesh, editor Sangathamizhan, and music composer Sean Roldan. The film is made both in Tamil and Malayalam.
