The grand audio launch of actor Suriya's upcoming film Kanguva with director Siva took place on Saturday at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. At the event, Siva spoke highly of Suriya and his challenges to make Kanguva, and thanked Ajith for trusting him.

"I'm amazed by the love that you are all showing. We took two years to film. I am happy that I could work with the wonderful human, Suriya. I really want to appreciate your father, Sivakumar, and your mother. Your character is flawless," he said about Suriya. "I have put you (Suriya) under distress while shooting Kanguva. Hats off to the physical and mental strength that you have showcased to perform this role. Thank you, Gnanavel Raja, sir. Our association goes to the film that gave me my name, Siruthai Siva," he added.

Siva had specific words of praise for his technicians, but most specifically for the film's art director, whose detailed art work was evidently seen in the Kanguva trailer. "I thank every one of my technicians, especially art director Milan Fernandez. He has travelled with me for over a decade. His legacy will live on. Every one of the knives and headgear has his fingerprint. His wife Maria helped in completing the project," he said about the late art director.

Speaking about Ajith, with whom he has collaborated for Veeram, Vedhalam, Viswasam, and Vivegam, he said, "I thank my parents, my wife. Everyone told me that Kanguva is a great film. God is giving me the opportunity to do many commercial films. I thank my friend, Guru, and well-wisher Ajith. The trust he placed in me has given me all the confidence needed."

The Kanguva audio launch was also attended by Suriya, Disha Patani, Bobby Deol, Kalairani, Yogi Babu, Karthik Subbaraj, RJ Balaji, Devi Sri Prasad, Bose Venkat, Sivakumar, Karunaas, Prem, SR Prabhu, Madhan Karky and KS Ravikumar among others.

Helmed by Siruthai-fame Siva, Kanguva marks Suriya's 42nd film. Apart from Suriya, the film also stars Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Vatsan Chakravarthy, Anandaraj, Suresh Chandra Menon, and TM Karthik, among others. Disha Patani makes her Tamil debut with Kanguva, as will Bobby Deol, as the antagonist.

Co-produced by UV Creations, Kanguva has a technical crew comprising cinematographer Vetri Palanisamy, and editor Nishadh Yusuf. The fantasy period action film, which will be made in two parts is expected to traverse across multiple time periods.

The film, which was initially slated to hit theatres on October 10, is now scheduled for release on November 14.
