Vishal, who was last seen in Hari's Rathnam, is currently working on his directorial, Thupparivaalan 2. Recently, reports have emerged that the film is all set to go on floors in the months of November and December. 

Previously, prior to the release of Rathnam, Vishal had announced during promotions that Thupparivaalan 2 will be shot in and around will be filmed in Azerbaijan, Malta and London. The film will reportedly see Vishal's protagonist, Kaniyan Poongundran, travelling the world to solve cases, as opposed to using his detective skills only in Tamil Nadu, as portrayed in the original Thupparivaalan. 

Thupparivaalan 2 will mark the directorial debut of Vishal after director Mysskin stepped down from his responsibility citing creative differences. The actor has not committed to any other film after the release of Rathnam, to work only on Thupparivaalan 2. 

While Vishal will be reprising his lead role, Prasanna is also expected to return to the role of Manohar. More details about the extended cast and crew are awaited. Backed by Vishal Film Factory, Thupparivaalan 2 will have music composed by Ilaiyaraaja, marking the first collaboration between the actor-turned-director, and the music composer.
