During the press meet of the upcoming film Bloody Beggar, Nelson Dilipkumar opened up on director Sivabalan Muthukumar casting actor Kavin in the lead role. He mentioned that he questioned the director's decision and advised him not to base his casting decision on friendship.

He said, "Sivabalan suggested Kavin as a hero, and I questioned his decision. I told him not to base his casting decision on friendship. I suggested Dhanush sir, Vijay Sethupathi sir, and more. But he didn't want any other actor apart from Kavin. I personally felt Kavin won't fit the bill. But he was confident about casting Kavin and I went with his decision."

However, Nelson's confidence in the film increased after the look test was done for Kavin. "I didn't interfere with his work, during the shooting too, I didn't watch the whole shooting because I didn't want to suggest changes. When I watched the film, recently, I was more than happy to see how hard Kavin and Sivabalan have worked. Only on watching the film did I realise how wrong I was about not wanting to cast Kavin," he added.

The Jailer filmmaker also shared how he knew the director and the moment he became a producer for the film. "I know Sivabalan for the last 15 years. He joined me as an assistant when I was working on Vettaiya Mannan. He worked with me even in Jailer. He used to keep pitching ideas for his directorial, on and off. It was during the shoot of Jailer that he pitched the idea for Bloody Beggar and asked me if I would produce the film. I wanted to do something for him, and gave him one condition. I was willing to bankroll his film if Jailer became a hit. He was willing to wait, and I think he prayed more than me for Jailer to become a hit," he explained with a laugh.

Kavin will be joined by Redin Kingsly, Maruthi Prakashraj, Sunil Sukadha, T M Karthik, Padam Venu Kumar, Arshad, Priyadarshini Rajkumar, Miss Saleema, Akshaya Hariharan, Anarkali Nazar, Dhivya Vikram, Tanuja Madhurapantula, Rohit Denis, Vidyuth Ravi, and Mohammed Bilal in the star cast of Bloody Beggar.

The technical crew of the film, produced by Nelson Dilipkumar's Filament Pictures, has music director Jen Martin, cinematographer Sujith Sarang, editor Nirmal, and stunt directors Action Sandhosh and Metro Mahesh.

Bloody Beggar will release on Diwali Day (October 31), alongside Sivakarthikeyan's Amaran, and Jayam Ravi's Brother.
