Recently, we reported that Nithya Menen confirmed being a part of Dhanush's fourth directorial, Idli Kadai. The actor has now opened up about starring in the upcoming film, a little about her role, and Dhanush in various recent interviews.
Mentioning that it's too early to say anything about the film as she has just shot for a couple of days, Nithya shared in an interview with News 18, "If Shobana from Thiruchitrambalam demanded me to step out of my comfort zone, then Idli Kadai demands double of that. Dhanush has once again given me the opportunity to perform a character that no one would picture me performing."
Further, speaking about her relationship with Dhanush, Nithya said in an interview with Zoom, "Professionally, Dhanush and I share a very complimentary relationship. He really values and appreciates what I am able to bring to a character or a film. I like that he is forthright about everything. Dhanush is so focused on cinema; He just wants to make lots of good films. When he sees me, he gets inspired and comes up with multiple different stories and asks me for my opinion. "
Nithya previously collaborated with Dhanush for Thiruchitrambalam, which is directed by Mithran Jawahar. She recently won a National Award for her performance in the film.
Dhanush has previously helmed Pa Paandi, Raayan, and his yet-to-be-released Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam. GV Prakash Kumar will compose the music for the film, adding to his recent collaborations with Dhanush, such as Vaathi, Captain Miller, and Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam.
Idli Kadai is made collaboratively by Dawn Pictures, Red Giant Movies, and Wunderbar films. Aakash Baskaran and Dhanush are the producers, while Sreyas Srinivasan is the executive producer.
Technically, the film has DOP Kiran Koushik, editor Prasanna GK, and production designer Jacki. Further details about the cast are awaited, although the film will reportedly also star Rajkiran.
Meanwhile, Nithya Menen is currently working on Kadhalikka Neramillai, Dear Exes and a yet-to-be-titled film with Vijay Sethupathi.
