Production on the Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj film Coolie is in full swing. Shruti Haasan took to her Instagram Story to update that team Coolie has completed its Hyderabad production schedule. Shruti plays a character named Preethi in the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, starring Rajinikanth as Deva. The star-studded cast of the film also includes Soubin Shahir, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, and Upendra.

Coolie brings Rajinikanth and Lokesh together for the first time and reunites the actor with Sathyaraj after 1986's Mr Bharath. Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures is producing the film. It has music by Anirudh, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, and stunts by Anbariv. The production house is yet to set a release date for Coolie. They have also been keeping plot details under wraps since the film commenced production this July. According to reports, they will next shoot the film in Chennai later this October.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is awaiting the October 10 release of Vettaiyan, his film with director TJ Gnanavel that reunites him with Amitabh Bachchan after 1991's Hum.
