The latest and last actor to join the star cast of actor Vijay's swansong Thalapathy 69 is Prakash Raj. The makers have been making cast announcements of the film directed by H Vinoth for the past three days.

It was earlier revealed that Bobby Deol, Pooja Hedge, and Mamitha Baiju will be a part of the film. According to the recent announcement, they will be joined by Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and Narain.

This would be Prakash Raj's sixth collaboration with Vijay. The duo previously worked in Ghilli (2004), Sivakasi (2005), Pokkiri (2007), Villu (2009), and Varisu (2023).

The makers are expected to make further announcements related to Vijay's final film before he makes his foray into politics. Recently, they had dropped a poster with the tagline, "The torch bearer of democracy," hinting at a political film.

On the technical front, the film will have Anirudh Ravichander as its composer. Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions will produce the film, with Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith NK serving as co-producers. The makers are likely to announce further technical crew members in the coming days.

Thalapathy 69 is slated for an October 2025 release. Meanwhile, Vijay's recent film The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), with director Venkat Prabhu, is now streaming on Netflix.
