On Monday, Shruti Haasan joined the sets of Lokesh Kanagaraj's film with Rajinikanth, Coolie. A photo of the actor getting into makeup for the shoot was shared.

Earlier, a character introduction poster for Shruti was unveiled. The actor is all set to play a character named Preethi in the upcoming film.

Coolie marks Shruti's first film with Rajnikanth. It also marks the actor's first film with Lokesh, even though they starred together in this year's single 'Inimel', which was composed by Shruti.

Shruti joins Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and Sathyaraj as part of the ensemble. Further details about her character are yet to be revealed, although the poster hints at an action-related flavour. She was last seen in the 2023 film Salaar: Part 1—Ceasefire.

Coolie went on floors in July. On the technical front, it has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, editing by Philomin Raj, and stunts by Anbariv. The dialogues for the film are written by Lokesh alongside Chandhru Anbazhagan, who has also written the additional screenplay for the film.

Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, Coolie is scheduled to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. An official release date is yet to be announced.
