One of the most-awaited films of the year, Kanguva, starring Suriya, Disha Patani and Bobby Deol, released this morning. Sharing his views, director Karthik Subbaraj praised the making of the film.

On his official X handle, Karthik Subbaraj appreciated the "Stunning visuals," "superb stunts," and Siva's "unique tribal world building." He further wrote Suriya's "fiery performance," and the "technical and VFX brilliance" made Kanguva an exciting theatrical experience. He went on to praise everyone from the technical crew of the film.

Karthik Subbaraj is helming Suriya's next, tentatively titled Suriya 44.

An action-adventure film, Kanguva opened to polarised reviews on Thursday. The CE review of the film reads, "Kanguva is relentless, and not in a good way. This isn’t momentum; it’s dizzying unfocused pace that leaves you queasy and disconnected. The raw emotional strength from Siva’s better work is barely present here. It’s a film that could say so much, but it’s too distracted to stay with any one idea. And here’s the truth: it’s just as hard to feel invested in films where nothing happens as in films where too much seems to be happening."

Apart from Suriya, Kanguva also stars Disha Patani, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, G Marimuthu, Ravi Raghavendra, KS Ravikumar, Ravi Raghavendra, BS Avinash, and Deepa Venkat, among others. The film will mark the Tamil debut of Disha Patani and Bobby Deol.

The two-part film traverses across multiple time periods. Produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, Kanguva will feature cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy, editing by the late Nishadh Yusuf, and art direction by the late Milan Fernandez. Dialogues for the film have been written by Madhan Karky.
