On Sunday, the makers of Pradeep Ranganathan's Dragon announced that George Maryan and Indumathi Manikandan are onboard the film's cast. While the former will be playing a character named Dhanapal, the latter will be seen as Chitra in the upcoming film. They join the previously announced cast members, Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, KS Ravikumar, VJ Siddhu, and Harshath Khan.

Pradeep plays an unruly character known as Dragon in the film, which also stars Anupama as his lover Keerthi. Dragon marks Kayadu Lohar's Tamil debut, and she plays a character called Pallavi.

The film is directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, who is helming from his own screenplay. Lead actor Pradeep is also credited as the story writer alongside Ashwath. Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment is the creative producer for Dragon. It marks AGS Entertainment's second collaboration with Pradeep following 2022's Love Today.

Dragon has music by Ashwath's Oh My Kadavule collaborator Leon James, cinematography by Niketh Bommi, and editing by Pradeep E Ragav. The film will release in Tamil and Telugu.
