On Sunday, actor and director Revathy took to her official Instagram handle to praise Karthi and Arvind Swami's latest outing, Meiyazhagan. She wrote, "Wow what a beautiful feel-good film. Prem is a fabulously sensitive writer and director; this story could be anybody’s life. So many times we meet people whose name we forget but their goodness and simplicity stay with us. The honesty of the two actors is the strength of this film. Both Arvind Swamy and Karthi are a pleasure to watch. Every moment is so real. Such a pleasant real film amid so much commercial content. Jealous of such beautiful storytellers and film-makers. Kudos to the team and to 2D to once again bring a movie that is heartfelt." (sic)

Helmed by C Prem Kumar, Meiyazhagan hit theatres on September 27 and opened to positive reviews. Revathy has previously starred with Arvind in Marupadiyum and Pasamalargal. Karthi has not worked with Revathy so far. 

Meiyazhagan also stars Rajkiran, Saran Shakthi, Swathi Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sri Ranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran, Saran, Rachel Rebecca, Anthony, Rajkumar, Indumati, Rani Samyukta, Kayal Subramani, and Ashok Pandian.

A week after its theatrical release, Meiyazhagan was trimmed by 18 minutes and 42 seconds. While the original runtime was 2 hours and 57 minutes, the revised runtime is 2 hours and 38 minutes.
