The Akaali Trailer: The Swayam Siddha starrer is a thriller about occult practices in a village

The makers of The Akaali released its official trailer the other day. Written and directed by Mohamed Asif Hameed, the film stars Swayam Siddha, Nasser, Vinoth Kishan,  Arjai, Jayakumar, Thalaivasal Vijay, Vinothini, Yamini, Dharani Reddy, and Elavarasan. Judging by the trailer, the film revolves around a group of investigators looking into the evil deeds of occult practitioners in a mountainous village known as Nandesam. The trailer makes commentary about how, despite advances in technology, witchcraft, superstition, and human sacrifices are ruining people's lives in India.

The film is produced by P Ukesh Varaan under the PBS Productions banner. It has cinematography by Giri Murphy, music by Anish Mohan, stunts by Dinesh Kasi, and editing and VFX by Iniyavan Pandian. The makers are yet to announce a release date for the film, but the trailer describes it as a summer release.
