Actor Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming film with director Aarumuga Kumar has been titled Ace. The film marks the director and actor's second collaboration after the 2018 black comedy Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren. The makers released the first look and a title teaser for the film on Friday.

Rukmini Vasanth, who became popular with her Sapta Saagaradaache Ello films, will play the female lead. Ace also stars Yogi Babu, PS Avinash, Divya Pillai, Bablu and Rajkumar, among others in prominent roles. Touted to be an out-and-out commercial entertainer, the film is expected to have a blend of romance, action, comedy, and sentiment in its story.

On the technical team, Ace has music composed by Justin Prabhakaran, cinematography by Karan Bahadur Rawat and editing by R Govindaraj. The film is produced by 7Cs Entertainment and will be released this year. An official date is yet to be announced by the makers.

Vijay Sethupathi, who was last seen in the Hindi-Tamil bilingual Merry Christmas which was released earlier this year, has multiple projects in the pipeline including Maharaja, directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, Vetrimaaran's Viduthalai Part 2, Mysskin's Train and the silent film Gandhi Talks, directed by Marathi filmmaker Kishor P Belekar. Meanwhile, Rukmini Vasanth will also be seen in Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming untitled film (SK23) helmed by AR Murugadoss.
