Ilaiyaraaja announces completion of his pure symphony composition

He completed it in four movements and over 35 days without the involvement of film or background music

In a video he released today on X, Ilaiyaraaja revealed that he completed a pure symphony composition in between his film commitments and events. At the start of the video, Ilaiyaraaja shared that he does not pay attention to others' opinion about him on social media but rather focuses on his job. Stating that he is going about his job with great clarity, Ilaiyaraaja announced the news about the completion of his latest composition, without the involvement of film or background music, in four movements and over 35 days. He also differentiated between film music, background music, and symphony. "If elements of film and background music are reflected in a piece of work, it is not symphony," clarified Ilaiyaraaja.

On the film front, Ilaiyaraaja's upcoming projects include Vetrimaaran's Viduthalai Part 2, Alphonse Puthren's Gift, and his own biopic starring Dhanush as the legendary composer and directed by Captain Miller fame Arun Matheswaran.
