Actor-choreographer Prabhu Deva and music composer AR Rahman will join hands for a film after 25 years.

The official announcement was made on Friday by the makers. The film has been tentatively titled #arrpd6.

Manoj NS, founder and CEO of Behindwoods, will produce and direct the film. Speaking about bringing the favourite combination of the 90s, he said, "The project aims to celebrate two iconic talents India has ever seen."

AR Rahman said this idea had been on his mind, "But I had set it aside. However, this project rediscovered it and captured my attention once again."

Calling Rahman an "inspiration for choreographers", Prabhu Deva said he is excited to partner with the "music dynamite" once again.

The film also features Yogi Babu and Malayalam actor Aju Varghese in important roles.

The duo have delivered musical hits such as Mr Romeo, Kaadhalan and Minsara Kanavu in the past.

The movie will go on floors from May and is expected to be released in 2025.
