According to reports, actor Dulquer Salmaan has withdrawn from Mani Ratnam's multi-starrer film Thug Life. The film went on floors earlier this year. It has a large ensemble cast that features the likes of Kamal Haasan, Trisha Krishnan, Nasser, Abhirami, Jayam Ravi, Gautham Karthik, and Joju George. It was earlier reported that Dulquer would also play an important part in the film, and his name was included in its title announcement teaser's description. But the actor has reportedly decided to step away from the project due to his schedule concerns.

Thug Life will mark the 234th film of Kamal Haasan. With Thug Life, Kamal is reuniting with Mani Ratnam for the first time after Nayakan. The film made headlines for their reunion, which was announced not long after Kamal's Vikram.

Thug Life is co-produced by Red Giant Movies, Raaj Kamal Film International, and Madras Talkies. It will also have music by maestro AR Rahman and cinematography by Ravi K Chandran.

Meanwhile, Dulquer is gearing up for the release of his Telugu film Lucky Baskhar.
