Actor Sonia Agarwal's upcoming horror flick 7/G, directed by Haroon Rasheed, has cleared the censorship formalities.

The makers have announced that the film has obtained a U/A certificate from CBFC and will get a release date soon.

Billed as a horror film, 7/G also stars Smruthi Venkat in a pivotal role. In an earlier conversation, director Haroon said, "Unlike many horror films in Tamil, 7/G will stick true to its genre without shifting lanes. The film is set in an apartment, but it is not a chamber drama." He also clarified that the film has nothing in common with Sonia's hit film 7/G Rainbow Colony.

"It is just sheer coincidence. In fact, we were planning to shoot the film in flat No. 8/G and call the film the same too. However, due to certain circumstances, we had to shift production to flat No. 7/G, and the title just fell into place," he said.

The film will have music by Sidharth Vipin, who is also playing a pivotal role in 7/G. The film also stars Papanasam-fame Roshan Basheer and actor-director Subramania Siva.

7/G has cinematography by Kannaa and editing by Biju V Don Boaco. The film, backed by Haroon's Dream House banner, is yet to get a release date.
