Dhanush's Raayan gets a new release date

It was originally slated for a June 13 release

The makers of Raayan, starring and written and directed by Dhanush, have postponed the release of the film. Earlier, it was slated for a theatrical release on June 13, but the makers of the film, Sun Pictures, have now pushed it back to July 26. Apart from Tamil, it will release with dubs in Telugu and Hindi. The film has a big star cast, which also includes Prakash Raj, Kalidas Jayaram, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sundeep Kishan, Saravanan, and Dushara Vijayan. Raayan has been in post-production since December last year. The latest update comes shortly after the release of the songs 'Adangaatha Asuran' and 'Water Packet'.

Raayan has music by AR Rahman, cinematography by Om Prakash, editing by Prasanna GK, stunts by Peter Hein, as well as dance choreography by Prabhu Deva and Baba Baskar.

Dhanush's upcoming releases also include the bilingual film Kubera, an Ilaiyaraaja biopic by Captain Miller fame Arun Matheswaran, and D 52 by Mari Selvaraj. He is also directing a film titled Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, also known as NEEK, featuring a group of up-and-coming actors.
