Amazon Prime Video has started to stream the recent Tamil film Star, which features Kavin in a leading role. The streaming service dropped the film without prior notification at midnight today. Directed by Elan, Star is the coming-of-age tale about a middle-class man, Kavin's Kalairasan, who dreams of becoming a film actor. The film also stars Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, Preity Mukhundhan, Geetha Kailasam, Maaran, Kaadhal Sugumar, and Nivedita Rajappan, among others.

Star is Elan's second directorial venture; his first one was 2018's romantic-comedy Pyaar Prema Kaadhal. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, editing by Pradeep E Ragav, and cinematography by Ezhil Arasu K. It released on May 10 in theatres.
