As a part of actor-politician Vijay's birthday celebrations, a distribution company has decided to screen the actor's blockbuster action film Thuppakki.

Shree Karpaga Vinayaga Film Circuits will re-release the AR Murugadoss film all over Tamil Nadu on June 21. This development comes after the resounding success of Ghilli's re-release in April.

It is worth noting that this distributor has distributed Vijay's Master and Leo in Chennai.

Thuppakki was celebrated by Vijay and his fans as a big breakthrough in 2012 after a rough patch.

The film follows Indian army's Captain Jagadish Dhanapal (Vijay) who visits Mumbai during his holiday for his betrothal so that he doesn't have to stay single another year. In a strange turn of events, he discovers a terror conspiracy, which is the brainchild of a dreaded extremist outfit. How he manages to foil a Taj attack like sabotage without exposing himself is what the film is about.

The film that stars Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead also features Vidyut Jammwal, Sathyan, and Jayaram.

On the work front, AR Murugadoss is working on Sivakarthikeyan's 23rd film SK 23 after which he will move to Bollywood for Salman Khan's Sikkandar. Vijay, on the other hand, has almost completed filming for Greatest Of All Time with director Venkat Prabhu, which is slated to be released on September 5.
