Karthik Subbaraj's upcoming film with Suriya has added actors Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George and Karunakaran to its cast. Tentatively titled Suriya 44, the film is currently in the pre-production stage and is set to go on floors from June.

Pooja Hegde is coming back to Tamil cinema after playing the female lead in Vijay's Beast (2022), Jayaram was last seen in the Ponniyin Selvan films and is set to play key roles in Dhanush's Raayan and Vijay's The Greatest of All Time. Meanwhile, Joju George is reuniting with Karthik Subbaraj for the second time after Jagame Thandhiram in 2021. Apart from Suriya 44, the actor also has a prominent role in Kamal Haasan's upcoming biggie Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam.

The technical crew of Suriya 44 comprises music composed by Karthik Subbaraj's regular collaborator Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna, editing by Shafique Mohamed, art direction by Jackson and action choreography by Kecha Khamphakdee. Karthik Subbaraj will be co-producing the film under his banner Stone Bench Films along with Suriya's 2D Entertainment.
