On Monday, actor Raghava Lawrence took to his official X handle to share his review of Raayan, heaping praises on Dhanush, AR Rahman and others who are a part of the film. The film hit theatres on Friday and opened to positive reviews.

First, Raghava praised Dhanush, SJ Suryah and other cast members. "I watched Raayan yesterday. Amazing direction and acting by Dhanush sir. A different performance by SJ Suryah brother. Good job by Dushara Vijayan and Promising performances by everyone." Further commending the craft, he continued, "Outstanding BGM by AR Rahman sir. Overall, I loved the screenplay and everything about the film. My best wishes to Sun Pictures. We have an international range director in our industry. Congrats Dhanush sir on your 50th film." (sic)

Raayan also stars Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Aparna Balamurali, Saravanan, Prakash Raj, and Selvaraghavan among others. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, Raayan marks Dhanush's comeback as a writer-director after 2017's Pa Paandi.

Apart from music by AR Rahman, Raayan has cinematography by Om Prakash, choreography by Prabhudeva and Bada Baskar, editing by Prasanna, and stunts by Peter Hein.
