Manipaul's Saala to release in August

Filmmaker Pa Ranjith unveiled the first look of director SD Manipaul's upcoming action film Saala, along with its release date.

Accordingly, the film will be screened in theatres on August 23.

The film, starring debutant Dheeran in the lead as Solomon, aka Saala, is said to deal with socially pertinent evils like alcoholism. The narration, according to the makers, revolves around a feud over running a wine shop on lease between two rancorous people, of which Solomon is one.

Apart from Dheeran, the film also stars debutant Reshma, who plays the female lead, Charles Vinoth, Srinath, Arul Das, and Sampath Ram.

The technical crew of Saala includes cinematographer Ravindranath Guru, music composer Theeseon, art director Vairabalan, editor Bhuvan, and stunt directors Magesh Mathew and 'Rugger' Ram.
