Filmmaker Halitha Shameem's upcoming film Minmini is all set for release on August 9, the makers had announced on Wednesday. Along with the trailer and release date announcement, the makers had also released the audio of the film.

There are four songs in Minmini, all of which were composed by singer Khatija Rahman, who is debuting as a composer through the film. 'Iru Perum Nadhigal' has been sung by Shakthisree Gopalan while 'Minmini Nee' has vocals by Sarthak Kalyani and Sireesha Bhagavatula. 'Uyirai' has been sung by Suryansh and 'Jananam' has vocals by Khatija Rahman and Sireesha Bhagavatula. All the four songs have lyrics written by Halitha Shameem.

Minmini, which is said to be Halitha's dream project, was shot over seven years to show the real growth of the actors. It features a bunch of child artists from Halitha's debut film, Poovarasam Peepe (2014). Minmini stars actors Esther Anil, Praveen Kishore, and Gaurav Kalai in lead roles. Halitha later became popular for directing films such as Sillu Karupatti (2019) and Aelay (2021). She also directed a segment in Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa (2022).

Minmini is expected to be a coming-of-age film that follows two youngsters who carry survivors’ guilt. Manoj Paramahamsa is handling the cinematography while also co-producing the film. Raymond Derrick Crasta has handled the editing.
