The trailer of Nakkhul's upcoming film Vasco Da Gama was released by the makers. Directed by RG Krishnan, the project, which was long in the making will hit theatres on August 2.

The two-minute-long trailer opens with a group of people who look like jail convicts taking an oath to "keep drinking to contribute to the government's, to divide the nation based on caste, religion and greed, and disrupt the peace of the people." Vasco Da Gama looks to be set in a fictional world where drug peddlers, thieves, killers and human traffickers run the show. It also has underlying satirical dialogues on the government and aims to tell what happens in a world that is driven by greed and materialism, and where truth is replaced by deception.

Apart from Nakkhul, the film also stars KS Ravikumar, Arthana Binu, Vamsi Krishna, Anandraj, Mansoor Ali khan, Munishkanth, Redin Kingsley, Premkumar, TM Karthik, Badava Gopi, Namo Narayana and Ravi Mariya, among others.

On the technical team, Vasco Da Gama has music by Arun NV, cinematography by NS Sathish Kumar and editing by Tamil Kumaran. The film is bankrolled by Dato Subhaskharan under his 5656 Productions.

Upon release on August 2, the film will clash with Vijay Antony's Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, Yogi Babu's Boat, Pari Elavazhagan's Jama and actor Ananth's directorial debut film Nanban Oruvan Vandha Piragu.
