Shanthi Talkies, the production house that made the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Maaveeran last year, announced on Sunday a couple of additions to the cast of their second production, the Siddharth-starrer tentatively titled Siddharth 40.

Sarath Kumar, who was last seen in the thriller film Hit List (2024), will be joining the film, directed by 8 Thottakal (2017) and Kuruthi Aattam (2022) filmmaker Sri Ganesh.

Also joining the cast is actor Devayani, whose last Kollywood appearance was almost six years ago in Kalavani Mappillai.

Even though the nature of their roles is yet to be revealed, it is interesting to note that Devayani and Sarath Kumar have co-starred in several commercially successful movies of the late 1990s and early 2000s, such as Surya Vamsam (1997), Thenkasi Pattanam (2002), and Paattali (1999).

Apart from Siddharth 40, Devayani will also be starring in the upcoming Jayam Ravi-starrer Genie, while Sarath Kumar has Operation Raahat and Mr.X in the pipeline among other films.
