Jama Teaser: Pari Elavazhagan plays a Therukoothu artist in this Ilayaraja musical

The teaser for the upcoming Pari Elavazhagan film Jama got released on Sunday. In this film that is said to honour Therukoothu artists, Pari, known for films like Yaanum Theeyavan (2017), Chennai Palani Mars (2019), and the recent J Baby, plays one such artist who dons female roles in plays. The teaser showcases the emotional journey that Pari's character undergoes.

Pari has also written and directed Jama, which credits its music to Ilayaraja. The cast of the film includes Chetan, Ammu Abhirami, Sri Krishna Dayal, K.V.N. Manimegalai, Kaala Kumar, Vasanth Marimuthu, Jesuraj, S. Sarathi Krishnan, Siva Maran, and A.K. Elavazhagan.

In an earlier conversation with CE, Pari said, "A group of therukoothu artists who work together as a team is called a Jama. The story revolves around two artists who start a Jama together. How the protagonist attempts to reclaim the leadership that his father once lost forms the basic storyline of the film."

On the technical front, the film has cinematography by Gopal Krishna, editing by Partha MA, and art direction by Srikanth Gopal. Learn and Teach Production, which previously backed Koozhangal, is bankrolling this film.
