Actor Nakkhul's upcoming film Vasco Da Gama has cleared censorship formalities and has received a U certificate from the CBFC. Directed by RG Krishnan, the project, which was long in the making will hit theatres on August 2. The makers recently announced that the film's trailer and audio will be released on July 20.

The film marks Krishnan's second direction project. He had previously helmed an OTT film called Devadas Parvathi, which was popular for its tracks sung by the late SP Balasubrahmanyam. The film is billed to be a comedy thriller and will also feature Arthana Binu, KS Ravikumar and Munishkanth in prominent roles.

On the technical team, Vasco Da Gama has music by Arun NV, cinematography by NS Sathish Kumar and editing by Tamil Kumaran. The film is bankrolled by Dato Subhaskharan under his 5656 Productions.

Upon release on August 2, the film will clash with Vijay Antony's Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan, Yogi Babu's Boat, Pari Elavazhagan's Jama and actor Ananth's directorial debut film Nanban Oruvan Vandha Piragu.
