The makers of Gayathrie and Bala Saravanan starrer Pechi released the trailer of the horror film on Friday.

Trailer of Pechi, touted to be a folklore horror film, opens with a man panting and running towards a dilapidated house that is haunted. The scene then shifts to a group of campers led by Gayathrie stopping by a board that reads "Do not proceed further", but they do. What follows is a series of horror and witchcraft scenes set against the forest backdrop.

Pechi is based on an eponymous short film directed by legendary filmmaker Balu Mahendra. The film reportedly revolves around age-old practices such as black magic and witchcraft. According to reports, the makers shot it in dense forests over a single schedule consisting of 30 days.

It has music by Rajesh Murugesan, cinematography by Parthiban, editing by Ignatious Aswin, and production design by Kumar Gangappan.
