Following the success of action thriller Sardar, the makers have officially launched the sequel to the film with PS Mithran and Karthi returning as the director and male lead respectively.

Sardar 2 commenced with a formal pooja in the presence of Mithran, Karthi, veteran actor Sivakumar, and the technical crew of the film.

While details about the rest of the crew are kept under wraps, the film will go on floors from July 15.

Cinematographer George C Williams and stunt director Dhilip Subbarayan have been retained in the technical crew, with Yuvan Shankar Raja replacing GV Prakash and Vijay Velukutty replacing Antony L Ruben as music composer and editor respectively.

Sardar opened to majorly positive reviews during its release on Diwali 2022, making it one of the most commercially successful films of the year.

Sardar 2 is produced by Lakshman Kumar under his Prince Pictures banner.
