Shruti Haasan joins the cast of Rajinikanth's Coolie

Apart from Shruti, the cast also features actor Sathyaraj in a key role

Actor and singer Shruti Haasan has joined the cast of Rajinikanth's upcoming film Coolie in an undisclosed role. Within a few minutes of the official announcement from Sun Pictures that Coolie has gone on floors, Shruti took to her Instagram stories to share that she has begun filming for the much-anticipated film. This is the first time she is joining hands with Rajinikanth for a film.

Apart from Shruti, the cast also features actor Sathyaraj in a key role. With Coolie, Sathyaraj is set to to reunite with Rajinikanth after 38 years. The duo paired last in Mr Bharath which was released in 1986. Details of the rest of the cast and plot are kept under wraps.

On the technical team, Coolie has music by Anirudh, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, and editing by Philomin Raj. The dialogues for the film are written by Lokesh along with Chandhru Anbazhagan, who has also written the additional screenplay for the film.

Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, Coolie is scheduled to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.

Shruti Haasan, who was last seen in Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, also has Dacoit: A Love Story, Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam and Chennai Story in the pipeline.
