Soori-Anna Ben's Kottukkaali bags an award in its festival run

Director PS Vinothraj's Kottukkaali, starring Soori and Anna Ben, has won the Golden Lynx Award for the Best Feature Film at the Portugal International Film Festival.

The Koozhangal-helmer's next has been garnering accolades at every festival where it is being screened. The Golden Lynx Award is yet another recognition for the film on the international stage.

It is worth noting that the film was accorded a rave reception at the Berlin International Film Festival and the Transilvania International Film Festival.

Actor-producer Sivakarthikeyan, who is backing the film under his banner Sivakarthikeyan Productions in association with The Little Wave Productions, shared the news on his social media handles, announcing the same.

Kottukkaali is directed by PS Vinothraj, who last helmed Koozhangal, which won the Tiger Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2021. Kottukkaali was the first Tamil film to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.

The film marks Soori's second film as a lead, as he debuts as a lead in Vetrimaaran's Viduthalai. For Anna Ben, the film will mark her debut in the Tamil film industry. Sakthi is handling cinematography, while Ganesh Siva is taking care of editing.
