The makers of Kavin's next, Star, released a first look glimpse of the film's female lead, Aaditi Pohankar. The video shows her character dressed in a cotton salwar, and as she looks into the camera, she is introduced as Jimikky. 

Directed by Elan of Pyaar Prema Kaadhal (2018) fame, Star has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Star also stars Lal, Preity Mukhundhan, and Geetha Kailasam. It is to be noted that the film was initially supposed to star Harish Kalyan in the lead, who was then replaced by Kavin. 

In a previous conversation with CE, Elan said, “I have reworked the script. While Pyaar Prema Kaadhal was a rom-com, Star will have a mix of everything including a college story, romance and family drama.” 

On the technical front, Ezhil Arasu, who also worked on Dada, will crank the camera for Star, while editing will be handled by Pradeep E Ragav. National Award-winner Sujith Sudhakaran is designing costumes and Vinoth Raj Kumar N is the art director.
