A sequel to the 2013 hit comedy film Desingu Raja has been announced. Directed by Ezhil, the original film stars Vimal and Bindu Madhavi in the lead roles. Now, after a gap of ten years, the director and actor and reuniting for the sequel.

The film's narrative is set to revolve around four young individuals who possess distinct ideologies and form a bond of friendship during their time in college. It focuses on transformations in their lives as they reunite after a considerable time.

While actor Jana plays a prominent role, Poojitha Ponnada and Harshitha are the female leads in the film. Like Desingu Raja, the sequel too will feature a comedy ensemble featuring actors Ravi Maria, Robo Shankar, Singam Puli, Kingsley, Pugazh, Motta Rajendran, Chaams, Vaiyapuri, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, Madurai Muthu, Madhumitha, Vijay TV Vinoth and many others.  

Vidyasagar will be composing music for Desingu Raja 2, marking his collaboration with director Ezhil after Poovellam Un Vaasam (2001). P Ravichandran of Infinity Creations is producing this film.  According to the makers, the film's production is moving at a brisk pace and is expected to be released this summer.
