Viduthalai receives a standing ovation at IFFR

Earlier, we had reported that filmmaker Vetrimaaran's two-part film, Viduthalai, starring Soori in the lead role, would be screened at the prestigious International Film Festival Rotterdam. Following the screening, the film received a standing ovation for five minutes. Along with Vetrimaaran and Soori, actor Vijay Sethupathi, who plays a pivotal role in the film, also attended the screening. 

Several social media accounts echoed the film's positive reception at the film festival. Sharing the news production house Red Giant Movies wrote on their Twitter handle, Viduthalai Part 1 & 2 The film receives a thunderous standing ovation at IFFR! Powerful 5-minute applause resonates with the impactful storytelling and stellar performances at Rotterdam Film Festival." 

Reflecting on the film's positive reception at the prestigious festival, actor Soori shared a video on his Instagram handle captioned in Tamil that roughly translated as "Viduthalai Part 1 and 2 were screened at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, Netherlands. This is the rousing, standing ovation the audience gives at the end. The applause went on for a few minutes..." 

Viduthalai Parts 1 and 2 were screened at the festival. While Viduthalai Part One was released in March last year, the second part has yet to get a release date. The film also stars Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Chetan, among others. The film has music by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by Velraj.
