The release of Ajith's next film Vidaamuyarchi, with director Magizh Thirumeni, has been postponed. It was supposed to hit theatres as a Pongal release. In their update, the film's production banner Lyca Productions posted a note on X with the caption: "Due to unavoidable circumstances, the release of Vidaamuyarchi is postponed from Pongal! Kindly stay tuned for further updates! The wait will be worth it!"
Vidaamuyarchi also stars Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, and Regina Cassandra in key roles. Recently, the makers of the film added Ramya Subramanian, also known as VJ Ramya, to the cast. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Om Prakash, editing by NB Srikanth, and action by Supreme Sundar. Ajith also has Good Bad Ugly, with director Adhik Ravichandran of Mark Antony fame, in the pipeline. Good Bad Ugly is also slated for a Pongal release, but the film's producer Naveen Yerneni of Mythri Movie Makers hinted at its postponement at a recent event for Pushpa 2: The Rule promotions and director Adhik confirmed it earlier today.
However, now that Lyca Productions has pushed the release of Vidaamuyarchi to a different date, fans will be eager to know whether it means Good Bad Ugly will open in theatres on Pongal instead.
On the other hand, a trailer for Vidaamuyarchi is expected to hit at midnight on New Year's Day.
