The makers of director Manimoorthi's Lara, ahead of its release on January 3, dropped a sneak peek of the film on Monday.

The glimpse of the film, starring Ashok in the lead, shows an investigation procedure for a murder. Though there are no specific details about the plot, the director revealed that the film is inspired by true events that happened at Karaikal a few years ago.

Starring with Ashok are female leads Anushree, Venmathi and Varshini, while Mathew Varghese, Karthikesan and SK Babu play pivotal roles.

The technical crew of Lara comprises cinematographer RJ Raveen, music composer Raghu Sravan Kumar, editor Valarpandi, art director Murugan and producer Karthikesan of MK Film Media Works, who has an on-screen role in the film and has also penned the lyrics with Muthamil.
