Stuntman and actor Gothandaraman dies at 65

Kollywood celebrities are paying respects to his mortal remains kept at his Perambur residence

Tamil cinema stuntman and actor Gothandaraman has passed away, reportedly due to a long-term illness. He was 65.

He has been a part of the industry for the past 25 years. He joined films as a stuntman, but he however shot to fame as a comedy sidekick 'Thimingalam' to actor Santhanam in the 2012 Sundar C film Kalakalappu, which had Vemal, RJ Shiva, Anjali and Oviya in the lead roles.

Apart from that film, Gothandaraman is also notable for his appearances in Vijay's Bhagavathi (2001), Ajith's Kireedam (2007) and Vedalam (2015). He has also worked as a stunt choreographer in the Ramki and Sanghavi starrer Ellame En Pondattithaan, Rajkiran's Ellame En Rasa Dhaan and Sivaji Ganesan-Vijay starrer Once More.

The actor, in a recent interview, reportedly made a sorrowful statement that his family and relatives have estranged him due to his illness and he is being taken care of by the Stunt Union.
