Actor Rajinikanth was questioned by the press and media outside the Chennai airport on Monday, as he was departing to resume his Coolie shoot. When asked about his upcoming films, the actor said that he will only be filming for other films after completing the shooting for the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, which he is set to wrap up in February.
The actor further mentioned his condolences for those who deceased due to the casualty caused by the rains in Thiruvannamalai. The actor is currently heading to Jaipur, where he will be shooting for Coolie, even on his birthday.
Coolie boasts a star-studded ensemble of Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Upendra, Shruti Haasan and Soubin Shahir. Reports also suggest that Aamir Khan is onboard the film and that the actor has already reached Jaipur for the shoot. However, the actor or the makers are yet to confirm the same. It is worth noting that Rajinikanth and Aamir have collaborated for Dilip Shankar's action-thriller Aatank Hi Aatank (1995), which is loosely based on Mario Puzo's The Godfather. If the rumours are anything to go by, the two will be seen on screen together after a gap of 29 years.
Coolie went on floors in July. On the technical front, it has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, editing by Philomin Raj, and stunts by Anbariv. The dialogues for the film are written by Lokesh alongside Chandhru Anbazhagan, who has also written the additional screenplay for the film.
Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, Coolie is scheduled to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. An official release date is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, some speculations are rife that Rajinikanth is all set to begin shooting for Jailer 2, after completing Coolie. Some other reports reveal that he may be joining hands with Mani Ratnam, 34 years after Thalapathi. Official confirmation is awaited regarding both films.
